Why is it that what should be an hour event in Boston - OK, 2 hours with transportation - turns into an all day journey? Went to the BPL this morning ostensibly for a tour. The guide was quite unfocussed & general, but at least she was enthusiastic. Found out that I cant even get 66% of the books I wanted through the BPL, & one - The Book of the British Library - is only available for reference in the Leventhal Map Center. What its doing in that collection I cant guess. But I got a good look at it & ended up ordering a used copy from Amazon for the Secret Archives. Morgan had to start dragging me away when I started perusing Maps of Religious America. Ended up the day seeing a magnificent 50 year Dr. Who retrospective.
