You teach your child to yell at you and others to get what he/she wants. 3. Yelling damages your relationship. The greatest influence as a parent is in the quality of your relationship. In other words, as the quality of your relationship becomes strained your child will become less cooperative. 4. Yelling at your child hurts and lowers his/her self -esteem.
