Why some Mother Tinctures appear clear and others have cloudy - TopicsExpress

Why some Mother Tinctures appear clear and others have cloudy particles in them? If you notice cloudy streaks, or suspended particles, or some precipitate of the herbal ingredient floating in the Mother Tincture bottle, or find small particles of the herbal ingredient around the dropper; such an appearance is due to the natural characteristic of the herb in mother tinctures. Depending on the type of plant used, the Mother Tinctures can vary in terms of being a clear solution or have some cloudiness or precipitate in them. For instance, if a Mother Tincture is made from all parts of a plant (like Arnica, Calendula, and Phytolacca etc.), or if the plant itself is full of natural fibers and pulp (like Fucus), then the resulting tincture might look cloudy. This same occurrence can also be observed in natural juices where you can observe some settlements in the bottle (like apple cider and juice, etc.). Therefore, even though all the mother tinctures are micro-filtered before they are bottled, some herbs will always produce a cloudier tincture than others, and this is a natural phenomenon. Please store Mother Tincture bottles in dry and cool place, below 25°C and avoid using 3 months after opening the bottle.
