Why we DONT FLY... I was in queue to buy some food at Bangalore airport, when I noticed a senior (old) Air Indian Pilot standing behind me. I smiled and asked him, The Boeing 787s are really giving you guys problems right? (reader - google the same if you dont know the context) The Pilot smiled and said, Not really. These are new planes and will get used to flying... I said, Huh? What about downtime and lost revenues? Who compensates for that? WHAT THE PILOT SAID THEN SHOCKED ME: He laughed and said, No, its the contrary! I was the 8th person to have bought the first Mahindra SUV in Delhi 8 years ago and after I got the car, I HAVE HAD TO TAKE IT BACK 40 TIMES to get it to keep running. While I expanded my eyeballs to explosion point on hearing this, the Pilot said, Boss.... The fun bit is that the car is serviced FREE ALL THE TIME. Imagine, I havent paid for any of the new parts... When I head his chuckle, I figured - THIS IS WHY WE CANT FLY. Imagine what will happen when the most senior of professionals in India who have been given BILLIONS of dollars of assets are MOST interested in FREE KA MAAL. HE DID NOT CARE ABOUT HIS OWN TIME LOST - so WHY will he care about the Nations time???!!!! **** NAMO - CLOSE DOWN THIS CRAP CALLED AIR INDIA AND REFUND US THE PROCEEDS PLEASE?! ****
