Why we really need to do things now! As I got into work this - TopicsExpress

Why we really need to do things now! As I got into work this Monday morning, raring to give it my all in the New Year, I sorted through some emails and checked my daily to do list. Some holdovers from the previous year were there, but mostly new and exciting things, many of them related to a major focus for me, The ZIPPER JUNCTION Project™. The last month has been a time of reflection as I lost someone near and dear to me, my sister in law Diane, who was more like a sister. The grief is real, has to be dealt with, and then there is the reaffirmation to make sure we hug those around us and let them know how much we love them. All in all, I still wanted to start the year off right, open minded that the coming year would indeed be great. Top on my list of things to do was reach out to folks I thought would be interested in The Project, some local and some from rather far away. I had met him a few times and knew he would be just the right type of person to approach. An educator for decades in the local school district and a self-made historian of sorts in his retirement. I was looking forward to contacting him this very week. Mr. Kennedy was not to be contacted this week however, or any other; he sadly passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and family in their time of grief. But I will not let his passing go unnoticed either, I am being told something, something very important. We really do not know when our time is up, there may not be a tomorrow, a next week, a next month to get it done, to reach out to that person, to make a difference. I am going to take away from this sadness an even stronger renewed sense of purpose for The ZIPPER JUNCTION Project™; to reach out and get people to pay attention, get them to be involved, get them to help make this happen, by all of us, for all of us!
