Wide receiver Percy Harvin played one of his best games in two years, but he could be lost for the remainder of the year after injuring his left ankle late in the fourth quarter of the New York Jets 30-24 overtime loss to the Minnesota Vikings at TCF Bank Stadium. Harvin left the stadium on crutches, saying he was going for tests. I cant talk too much about the injury other than it will be evaluated here in a little bit, he said after torching his first NFL team for 124 yards on six receptions, including a touchdown. The injury -- and the loss -- ruined Harvins return to Minnesota, where he played four seasons before being traded to the Seattle Seahawks last year. The Vikings have become an injury jinx for Harvin. In 2012, he suffered a season-ending injury to his right ankle in what turned out to be his final game in a Minnesota uniform. In 2013, in his only regular-season game for the Seahawks, he aggravated his surgically-repaired hip in a game against the Vikings. Now, this. Harvin wasnt able to return to the field for the Jets only possession in overtime, which ended with a punt. I wanted to be out there, battling with my teammates, so, yeah, that part was very disappointing, he said. Harvin heard boos throughout the game. When he scored on a 35-yard catch, he flipped the ball to a Vikings fan. He also stared into the crowd. Im not a big rah-rah guy, so to hear the boos and finally get that score, staring was a pretty good feeling, said Harvin, describing his first touchdown reception since 2012. Rex Ryan said Harvin was the difference in the game. He gave us a great shot with his return ability, as a receiver, everything. He did a tremendous job for us and, obviously, we know the kind of explosive player he is. The kind of talent he has is rare. Since being traded to the Jets, Harvin has 25 receptions for 306 yards and one touchdown in six games. Hes under contract through 2018, but he could be a salary-cap casualty with a $10.5 million base salary for 2015.
