Dear Wife, He is not perfect, he has hurt you before and you are - TopicsExpress

Dear Wife, He is not perfect, he has hurt you before and you are not able to trust him anymore. Probably you have loved him with everything you have but he has not reciprocated. Protected him from his enemies or even provided. You have longed for his affection and kind words but he does not look your way. Due to this you have become bitter and unforgiving. You look at him and wonder how God can be working in him hence your heart is filled with contempt. I want you to know you are not alone. Michal the first wife of King David was in the same predicament. How Michal lost King David her Husband: After making Jerusalem his capital, David brought the sacred Ark of the Covenant, the ancient symbol of Jehovah’s presence, to Moriah. On the day of the Ark’s return David was so joyful that, stripping himself of his royal robes, he “danced before the Lord with all his might.” Michal watched from a window and seeing David—the king—leaping and dancing before the Lord, she “despised him in her heart.” (1 Chronicles 15:29) Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said,) “How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself! ( Resenting her reproach, he made it clear in no uncertain terms that he was not ashamed of what he had done “before the Lord” who had chosen him rather than any of Saul’s family to reign as king. Michal had missed the essential significance of David’s career, that in spite of his failures he was a man after God’s own heart. (2 Samuel 6:20-23) Misunderstanding arose in their relationship just like in any other marriage, but had she shared David’s faith in God how different life would have been for both of them. Michal made no effort to understand her husband’s godly desires; she should have sought his forgiveness after he had explained his conduct before the Lord. But being eaten up with pride there was no tolerance in her heart and so harmony was impossible. David realized they could never love the same God. Therefore he cut her from his heart.” After such an outburst of reproach we read that “Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death,” (2 Samuel 6:16). Such a final flat statement practically means that she ended her days without the love and companionship of a husband. In conclusion: True Love brings harmony and understanding into marriage. I might not know your situation but I understand where you are coming from; though that is not reason enough to defile self. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger in you, walk in humility and see God healing and wholly restoring your marriage. No matter what transpires in your marriage never look down at your husband. (Proverbs 21:4) 3To do righteousness and justice is desired by the LORD more than sacrifice. 4Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, is sin.
