Wildlife biologists use many different methods to count wildlife populations, from spotlight counts, listening surveys, roadkill counts, trapping, and in the case of pronghorn antelope - aerial surveys. Biologists with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation conducted the surveys with the aid of small airplane in the Oklahoma Panhandle this past winter. The counts give them a good status of the population and their distribution so they can make informed management decisions.
