The international pop-opera group was assembled in 2004 by British music mogul Simon Cowell. Il Divo struck a chord with its sound — a sort of amped-up Three Tenors covering pop hits in foreign languages. Before long Urs Bühler, Sébastien Izambard, Carlos Marín and David Miller were filling arenas. Il Divos mixed up their routine by incorporating an icon of Broadway into the act. Lea Salonga, a Tony winner as Kim in Miss Saigon, joined the group and provided a welcome dose of variety. Lea Salonga still has clear high tones and can summon a girlish quality to her singing as demonstrated in a duet-times-four.
