Wildlife group discloses details of Rhino poachers A Karbi Anglong based anti poaching foundation and wildlife crime prevention group has disclosed the names and details information of 28 poachers and photographs of the four worst kingpins involved in poaching network spread across Assam, Nagaland and Manipur but also Myanmar and parts of China. According to the information, each poacher had killed not less than 10 Rhinos and has traded with its chopped horns to the tune of millions of Indian currency and foreign exchange. The group in the report has shown that maximum poachers are from Churachanpur district of Manipur and belong to a particular non Manipuri tribe. The report also stated that some poachers hailed from Karbi Anglong district of Assam but maintains close trade relation with the Churachanpur based Rhino horn traders. These poachers sell rhino horns to buyers of China, Middle East Asian countries from a particular hideout of Myanmar. “Members of various ultra organizations based in Karbi Anglong also kill rhino for fast cash. We have already placed all available information to proper authority but till now no action has been initiated”, executive director of the organization said on condition of anonymity. via Glen Thompson source:nagalandpost/
