As revealed by Telegraph Sport last week, Manchester City have made inquiries about how much it would cost to sign Bony this month as they assess their striker options. Real Madrid have also expressed a tentative interest in Bony and the Ivory Coast international is aware that he is in demand. Bony signed a new Swansea contract in November, which eradicated the £19 million release clause that was in his initial deal. That means Huw Jenkins, the Swansea chairman, can name his price for Bony or reject all bids this month. But the player, 26, signed his new contract in the belief that he would be allowed to speak to Champions League clubs. Bony is happy at Swansea and grateful for the opportunity he has been given, but does not want to be denied the chance to play at the highest level.
