Will & I are really trying to do a better job of making our girls understand the value of a dollar, save their money for things they want and the like. I normally dont post debatable questions on Facebook but I tend to be a softie and wanted to know opinions. Waiting in line in Academy to buy M a new backpack, we couldnt help but overhear a mother and son discuss the fact that he had used his own money to buy his school supplies and was also paying for his new backpack. I literally teared up as I watched him take his little wallet out and count out the one dollar bills for the cheapest brand mesh backpack that they had. It took everything I had to not offer to buy him a backpack of his choice. I think this is cruel and too extreme. But I want your thoughts. I have NEVER heard of this happening. If it matters, I would guess him to be around 8 years old.
