Will The Real You Please Stand Up I have a dream to one day be in a position to be able to influence the young minds of the world to find their passion early in life and follow it regardless of what others say they should do. I see this scenario a lot where I am in a conversation with a person about what they love doing and they might say I love health and the human body and I say great so are you studying about that or is that your profession? and they say no I did accounting I know in my own life I was passionate about music, I loved playing the drums, my dream in high school was to be a session drummer for big bands but my parents would say theres no money in music eventually after you hear it enough you believe it, so I did carpentry when I left school. Now Im not blaming my parents as they did the best they could with what they had but my point is this. I believe everyone is born with a talent, a special gift that no one else has. Some people are creative, some are academic, some are problem solvers and others are great communicators, some are great teachers and others have fantastic ideas. So why are so many people dissatisfied with their outcome in life, why do they feel disconnected or without real purpose or meaning? There could be many reasons but for today my focus is on what they get a buzz out of doing in their career using their amazing unique talents. I believe we all know what our gift is and if you dont know, it wont take long to think back to the times where you were completely immersed in a certain field, topic, sport, where time stood still whilst you were doing it, where it wasnt about the money or prestige or fame or anything, it was about a deeper connection to what it is you were doing. But somewhere along the line someone or many people told you that that wasnt right for you. Maybe because most of your family ran a business for example they assumed you would toe the line and you didnt want to let them down so you did. Or maybe you were told you would never be good enough and after a while you believed it. Whatever it is im here to tell you its never too late to re kindle that fire and re ignite that passion and im also going to say I personally believe that because its its a part of you it will never actually go away. The flame may get real low but it will never die out, its a part of your DNA and im also here to tell you if you dont re ignite it, a part you, inside, will always wonder what life would have been like if you went for it. Life is full of examples of people who couldnt play the sport but they went on to become great coaches, they couldnt act but they wrote great scripts, they couldnt sing but they wrote great songs, they couldnt buy the restaurant but they created great recipes. Find your unique gift, there is no one else like you in the world and you have something special to give, I ask you, Will The Real You Please Stand Up
