Will – It would slash $125 billion in retirement savings for federal employees. It would take away traditional pensions for newly hired federal workers. It would cut even more money in benefits for early retirees. It would reduce compensation for workers injured on their jobs. It would eliminate student loan forgiveness for workers. And it would take an additional 5.5% of salary from your paycheck. “It” is the Paul Ryan Budget – and it follows a three-year pay freeze that took $138 billion in pay from an already modestly-paid workforce. The Paul Ryan Budget is an insatiable monster hell-bent on devouring everything in sight, with no regard for working families. These cuts would force federal workers to work harder for less pay and discourage young people from starting careers in public service. And with cuts to federal workers, there would be fewer people inspecting our food and water, patrolling our borders and caring for our veterans.
