William Wallace has varicose veins Night Whisper | CHANGE | Ezekiel 23:28-30 | For thus says the Lord God: Surely I will deliver you into the hand of those you hate, into the hand of those from whom you alienated yourself. They will deal hatefully with you, take away all you have worked for, and leave you naked and bare. The nakedness of your harlotry shall be uncovered, both your lewdness and your harlotry. I will do these things to you because you have gone as a harlot after the Gentiles, because you have become defiled by their idols. NKJV William Wallace has varicose veins In my opinion, Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, is one of the prettiest cities in the world and seems to be one of the main tourist destinations of the world as well! Consequently, the Royal Mile and Castle Hill, the main street leading to the entrance of Edinburgh’s most famous monument, the castle itself, is usually bedecked with various street salesmen and street performers, all usually depicting famous characters from Scotland’s past, especially the latest hero made world famous by Hollywood rather than Hollyrood, Mr. William Wallace. On that particular weekend when I was once again walking up the Royal Mile, I found that the half blue woad painted face of this particular William Wallace character actually matched another blue on this same street artist’s body and that was, his Kilt revealing bulging varicose veins. The guys receding hairline, his plastic sword, his no doubt warm underpants under his cheap Kilt and his varicose veins’ when they were all put together became to me really a picture of a worn out bloke, painfully trying to be a young, revolutionary, all defiant and victorious. Lots of shouting, lots of declarations, lots of fizz and bluster, but the reality was all a charade. A bit like Scotland really, and certainly like its church. Now that I have offended over 5 million people and many more worldwide, I need to tell you that I speak as a Celt and I speak as a Scot, for my parents and grandparents were from this remarkable country and indeed, even my daughter was born here. No, I certainly do not wish to offend anyone’s national pride, least of all the Scots, but facts are facts and the church in Scotland is like the Hollywood version of William Wallace: Ageing, knackered, wearing a cheap Kilt with warm underwear, carrying a plastic sword and sporting varicose veins. A sign of deep veined thrombosis and an imminent stroke. Revival is once again on the lips of the dying desperate. But there is none and without a return to the Word of God and the fearless and faithful proclamation of His holy word, there shall be none either. At the time of my writing, in that other most famous Scottish city of Glasgow, just four months ago the International Christian College (originally formed by the merging of two other failing Bible colleges (Northumbria and Glasgow Bible college) announced that the college had been struggling with falling student numbers since 2007, and that attempts to balance the finances - including cost cuts and selling its building - had been unsuccessful and consequently, it was closing its doors forever. Indeed, even my local Baptist church is about to close its doors forever and the local church of Scotland Parish church is also up for a short sale, together with graveyard and old church hall. Meanwhile people walk all over Wishart in St Andrews and park their cars over John Knox in Edinburgh. So, I say again, what is left of the church in Scotland seems to be toting plastic swords and sporting varicose veins whilst wearing warm, cozy underwear. In Scotland, there is nothing left to revive. A new covenant of death is required for this nation. Death to self and faithfulness to the Lord and His word. Indeed, the blue sacrificial Saltire of St Andrew is the only sign of hope for Scotland. I wonder, if that unless we can find a few people who will earnestly pray, “Give me Scotland or I die!” and also with hope declare As God gives me the breath, I will once again proclaim the gospel from that great church!” Scotland, independent of the United Kingdom or not, shall slip beneath the waves of history forever. Who is willing to die for this country and the cause of Christ? Meanwhile, as the pair who wrapped bacon around the door handle of Edinburgh’s central Mosque begin their 12 month jail term, below the Islamic center which sits high on the hill overlooking the long town of Kirkcaldy, the wee boat in Kirkcaldy old harbor bobbed gently, maybe even knowingly upon on the evening tide. It was called ‘Inshallah.’ Listen: Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death. Revelation 2:10-11 NKJV Pray: Father, give us courage instead of cowardice, give us self-sacrifice instead of self-serving, give us provision and give us perseverance and then Lord, give us our nation or we shall die in apoplexy. Give us such a passion, give us such a fervor, in Jesus name we ask it, amen and let it be so. https://youtube/watch?v=IZHeEUHeWNg
