Wilson Street Streetscape (Batavia Ave. to Island/Shumway Ave.)Weekly Construction Update! Below is a look ahead to the anticipated construction activities for the next week. NIGHT WORK is scheduled to continue Friday 6/28, Sunday 6/30, Monday 7/1, Tuesday 7/2, Wednesday 7/3, from 8pm-7am. No night work is planned for Saturday 6/29, Thursday 7/4, Friday 7/5 and Saturday 7/6. The installation of the mainline water main will continue this week from Water Street to Island/Shumway Avenue. Pending approval of the water main testing the installation of the water services between Batavia Avenue to Water Street, there is a possibility that this work may begin this week. This work may require rock excavation, which will increase the noise levels during this time. Vehicle access on Wilson Street will remain open, with flaggers directing traffic through the area. Parking on the north side of the street during this time will be closed. Parking will be open on the south side of the street as well as along Batavia Avenue and Water Street. WBK will be stopping at each of the businesses to notify them in advance of this work. DAYTIME WORK for Friday 6/28, Monday 7/1 Tuesday 7/2, Wednesday 7/3 and Friday 7/5. No work on Thursday 7/4. The contractor will begin the patching the pavement in the locations where the water main was constructed between Batavia Avenue and Island/Shumway Avenue. The installation of the conduits and structures for the proposed lighting, irrigation and traffic signals will continue next week and will continue during the upcoming weeks. This work will include both directional boring and open trenching for the conduit work. Pedestrian access will remain, with some closures and/or detours around the work being performed. Where sidewalk closures are needed there will be sidewalk closed and appropriate sidewalk detour signs to get pedestrians around the work being performed and to their destination. The City and WBK will work with the contractor to minimize these inconveniences as much as possible and will continue to notify the businesses in the areas impacted. Vehicle access on Wilson Street will remain open. Single lane closures are possible during this work with flaggers directing traffic through this area.
