Windy 2014 Mammoth Marathon! Sunday September 21, 2014 The windsurfing results for the 2014 Mammoth are now posted at torontowindsurfingclub/programs-events/mammoth-marathon (click on 2014 Mammoth - All Courses). An event like this requires a lot of organization and support, and we would like to thank all of our 50! volunteers that helped make this event happen. They are listed below. Despite starting with heavy rain and high winds, conditions settled down and the sun came out for some unusual racing for TWC, with SW to W winds in the 15 knot plus range and large swell at the upwind mark. As a result, a decision was made to keep the course in the Outer Harbour due to the conditions and the capabilities of rescue boats. Some highlights and stand out performances include: Ian Matthews winning on his Equipe II despite stiff competition from runner-up Max Robinson on his RSX. Perhaps the most impressive performance was youth sailer Zane Feders 3rd place overall on a formula board. Also of note was the truly Marathon effort given by this years Learn to Windsurf crew! Not to be forgotten is first women Andree Gauthier on her Kona, and 2nd women and youth Marianna Aquilar, from Mexico, on a Bic Techno.
