Wink-edit is looking for Native English Speaking Proofreaders Wink-edit is a young start-up that combines proofreading services with online learning features that help users progressively improve their English. As a proofreader, your job would be to correct users’ texts and briefly explain your modifications through our custom-built web app. Check out this video to see what we’re all about. Now that the beta version of our software is nearing completion, we’re looking to build a team of proofreaders to help us test and get ready for the full launch. You’d be responsible for proofreading a few short texts (500 words or less) and providing us with feedback on the user interface. Then, when the full version launches and we’re ready to hire a team of paid proofreaders, you’ll be given priority in the hiring process and a preferred pay rate once you come on board. Although the beta version of Wink-edit is free (meaning we need test proofreaders on a volunteer basis), the full version will start paying proofreaders 1.5¢ per word — that’s as much as $15-$18 an hour for efficient workers. And as a beta volunteer, you’ll start out at a preferred rate of 1.9¢ per word when the site launches, meaning you’ll be able to make pretty decent pay while setting your own hours and working wherever you want.
