Winter just plain sucks around here! I love the snow but w.i.n.d. and below zero temps sure make life hard. Besides making my back/neck troubles worse, the labor is twice as hard. We forgot to put the tractor and the feed truck in the shop so neither of them have started for 3 days. The skid steer is in town and two of the trailers to haul it are out north and the other one has bad wheel bearings that didnt get fixed at the shop when we bought new tires. My old Ford has a hole in the transfer case that of course didnt get fixed in the nice weather. My brothers Duramax fired right up and then wont go in reverse. I finally got Rons Dodge going, let it warm up and headed over to barn and it suddenly quit alongside the road so I walked home and got the trusty Ford going, along with the horse trailer still hooked on to it. Ron and the hunter (Stan from GA...yes they are chilled lol) were off the mountain and helped me hook a strap on a bale and drag it out and then we pushed it with the truck bumper and by hand to feed...by then it was dark. I fed the other critters and came back to get warm, only to call my mom and hear that the creditors are requiring that ALL of my brothers cattle be gathered and sold :(. Makes me sad because its sad to see them go to someone else that doesnt know the history. Plus, I have to work my butt off for a hospital that didnt help him at all!
