With The Divine Blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organizations- Sivam, Hyderabad Islam Brothers offer Prayers @ Sivam – Iftar at Sivam on August 4, 2013. - Report by Pidatala Gopi Krishna With the grace of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, as a part of Ramzan which falls on Friday 9th August, Iftar was celebrated at Sivam on 4th August Sunday by Mehdipatnam and Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar samithis at the Official head-quarters of Sri Sathya Sai in Hyderabad - SIVAM. Main Entrance of Sivam The day started with Omkaram, Subrabhatham, Nagarsankeertan, in the morning at 5 am. On the occasion of the IFTAR, Sivam was colorfully decorated with the Varuna Deva playing his music showering blissful drizzles till the evening programme started. The evening programme started with Sarvadharma bhajans at 5 pm. The main speaker of the day was Sri Syed Ilyaz Ahmed, Joint secretary, UIRC, “Universal Islamic Research Centre” has been a student of comparative religions for the last 6years. An ex-service man from Indian army and had been striving for peace, communal Harmony, National integrity through UIRC. Reciting verses from the Upanishads, the Bhagawad Gita , the Bible and the Quran, he stated that there is only one God, He is the Most powerful, all people are alike but man is creating disparities amongst themselves for unknown and vested reasons. He said Sri Sathya Sai baba is also propagating the same principles and appreciated the efforts of the Sai Organization for following Sathya Sai Principles of ‘ Love All and Serve All . The Speech was followed by a Music concert which was a combination of Sufi, Ghazals and Quawali for about 45 minutes by Sultan Naza Quawali group. Starting the program with the popular number of Allah Ho… Allaho.. and subsequently another popular number from the Shirdi Ke Sai Baba film, the surroundings were reverberating with Love and divinity . Soon after Ms. Reshma, a Sufi singer sang a Bhajan on Sai and also the popular number Khwaja Mere Khwaja – Sufi song of AR Rehman which enthralled the audience. Meanwhile, outside the Sivam bhajan hall, around 200 Islam brothers gathered for offering prayers in the Sivam campus near the Book stall in a specially erected enclosure . The lawns of Sivam with the prayers of the Islam Brethren added to the divine atmosphere which was already filled with devotees offering their prayers on account of Bonalu - a festival of Telangana people to the Goddess Incarnate Parvathi. Sharply at 6.48 pm, Iftar was organized and the brothers broke their fast with a combination of fruits and a delightful and love filled dinner. The District President Sri MVR Sesha Sai in the presence of the Convenors of Mehidpatnam and Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar, Sri N S R Ramana and Sri D Prasada Rao felicitated the Imam Sri Rashid Ali who had conducted the prayers. Sri Krishna Yadav , Former Minister and MLA speaking on the occasion said that it was his great fortune that Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai is giving him opportunities in one way or other to get involved in Sri Sathya Sai organizations service activities . Offering help in any possible manner he said he is ready to do his part in future for any activity of Sri Sathya Sai Organisation. Sri Mohd Abbas, a resident of Sivam locality and Sri Rehman , an Alumunus of Sri Sathya Sai University had supported the Organisation in conducting Iftar programme. Over all, Sivam wore a festive look with Bonalu on one side and an Iftaar on the other clearly showing the Unity of religions and Brotherhood. The Programme ended with Harathi to Bhagawan and Prasadam distribution to one and all.
