With a death toll rising already to 5 according to Reuters, the situation in Kyiv is getting worse by moments. The clashes between protesters and police get more and more violent on the streets of the capital of Ukraine, and the hopes for a negotiated solution of the conflict and a repetition of the success of the Orange Revolution vanish. We would like to make clear that we stand strong on our support to the Ukrainian people who filled the Maidan square for their rights during 2 weeks, giving an example of democratic education to the world. That their pacific demands have turned into this violent riots has been fueled by the lack of will to listen to the peoples demands shown by the political leaders of Ukraine, government and opposition. We condemn the use of violence from police and from protestants, and hope for the urgent restitution of peace and all fundamental rights in Ukraine, as a first step for dialogue as a solution to this situation.
