With a massive turnout at City Hall in the city of Troy for the city Council meeting which was not expected by the members of the city of Troys counsel. One of the hot topics that brought the community together was the closing of engine four in Central Lansingburg. An area that was hit hard over the summer with violence and a string of arson fires. The whole controversy started over a leaked email that was posted to a blog that quickly spread like wild fire. City council members announced in the meeting that the email was not supposed to be leaked to the public and they have not planned to close engine 4. The citizens and over 40 firefighters that came out for the meeting were shocked that they would even think about considering cutting Public Safety in the city of Troy when crime is on the rise and the fire departments are getting busier and busier each year. The city of Troy does about 13,000 calls a year and has one of the busiest medic rig in the upstate New York area. Multiple members of the community addressed the City Council board members with their concerns over shutting it.
