With a successful 2014 Motorsport season at an end for our WR1000(+) R35 GTR its with great happiness we can sit back proud in the knowledge that not only have we retained our undefeated record in the Australian Standing 1000m racing scene, we have also set new time and speed records, raising the bar every time we have appeared with 100% reliability and performance. It might look easy on paper, but lots of work, planning and effort goes on behind the scenes to make this all happen. Its certainly no walk in the park, as it might sometimes seem from the outside looking in. What isnt well understood is that racing over 1000 metres at full power is a totally different discipline to conventional 400 metre drag racing. Making the car work not only across the extra 600 metres of track, but at different altitudes and on loose surfaces is key to getting the best times, and plenty of tuning and logging goes into ensuring reliability with the engine being under immense loads in top gear versus a short squirt down the quarter. Aerodynamics, fuel system design, engine cooling, and traction control are all parts of the 1000m racing puzzle, and after three years of winning these events we have gathered enough data to make sure that we can step off first run and put down a banker time, which is so crucial to being successful across the rest of the event. One thing you can be sure of is that you will see the Willall Racing R35 GTR at the 1000m events in 2015, and we will go faster again! 350km/h and 15 seconds is there for the taking...and we fully intend to give it a full-tilt go!
