With all of the questions and not as many answers surrounding the shooting death of Michael Brown in #Ferguson -- many have been OVERLY critical of the police and procedures used when dealing with citizens. I have said over and over that Im a huge supporter of the men and women in blue as I believe 95 percent are good and decent public servants who want to help keep our communities safe and then, at the end of shift, go home to their families safe and sound. One such officer -- this time the Chief of Police in the near San Antonio town of Elmendorf -- did not make it home. Chief Michael Pimentel was killed in the line of duty. He was shot during whats being called a routine traffic stop. The suspect is in custody. The local news reports he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. So, now the chief is gone and this loser is under arrest anyway. Senseless. Maybe next time youre read to go off on a rant about how horrible the police are, you can give Chief Pimentel a thought. My prayers to him and his family. Pags
