With all respect to our dear and often beloved friends in Scotland, some may not like it, others may and others may not care, my thoughts today on the vote, September 18, 2014, these are my thoughts for the two cents their worth. Scotland Votes for Independence In my heart, my vote is YES. In my brain, I vote Yes with a concern that England will not necessarily treat an independent Scotland well, but may try to punish them. However, I think they have, in fact, not been taking very good care of Scotland for 300 years in the UK. While it will not be an overnight panacea, I think people old and young will do better with independence than in the UK. For the old it will feel more risky, but for the young it could be just the kick in the pants many Scots need to start taking more responsibility for themselves, grow up, get educated and get to work, forget who your dad was, create, be entrepreneurs, create jobs and a better life for themselves and all of Scotland Also, I think they will have to sort out the realities of the social welfare state they have and hope to increase in the light of economic realities within their own border, of their own making and their own ability to change, or not rather than depending on Westminster, relying on Westminster and blaming Westminster. I think North Sea oil is very important as the English have been stealing it from Scotland for years including moving the borders secretly one three occasions. As a proponent of self-determination I think Scotland is a role model for many other peoples around the world living in similar and worse conditions of dominance by another country who sees their own interests always as primary and their neighbors like Scotland as secondary at best. And finally, I am so very proud to be of Scottish ancestry always, and especially the now as the land and people of my blood make this decision in peace and civility with out a gun, a bomb or a riot, but with needed reflection and debate, argument and self-determination. God bless you all. Everyone please VOTE! Cuimhnich air na daoine on tàinig thu. / Remember those from whom you are descended. -- From the book of Crìsdean
