With one of the most dramatic storylines of the season about to play out on our EastEnders screens this week, the cast & crew involved have been discussing the aftermath. Fans of the hit BBC soap will know how Dean Wicks has had an unhealthy infatuation with Linda Carter for weeks now & fans will see this intensify to the point that he rapes her in her kitchen. This will open a whole other can of worms for poor Linda, but will this be the twist which sees her expose Dean’s crime? This storyline is an interesting one as, rather than showing justice for the victim, it is set to focus on the injustice of the system when it comes to rape, as well as highlighting the fact that over 80% of women who are raped know their attacker, whilst also showing that not all rapists are dirty old men in trench coats. However, there will still be some punishment for Dean as Dominic Treadwell-Collins also revealed that Linda’s partner Mick WILL find out about the rape & has warned that this will hold some serious repercussions, explaining: We keep referring to Mick’s temper & let’s not forget, Dean has raped Danny Dyer’s screen wife! ….We’re rumbling towards Christmas.
