With the Autumn Shows upon us, it is important to read & refresh yourself with the WPCS Show Regulations! here are a few select ones, the current regulations can be found in the Action Newsletter: BRANDING – please note that micro chipping is acceptable instead of branding for foals born after the 1/8/13. Any animals born prior to this date must be branded. Random checks will take place at WPCS events & as per show regulation 7, exhibits must be branded for showing Purposes or will be INELIGIBLE TO BE SHOWN SWABBING: REG 35: All exhibits must compete drug free. Random swabbing may take place in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the WP&CS which are in accordance with EA standards. WHIPS – please note that the excessive use of whips is not acceptable. The welfare of exhibits is paramount - please refer to Show Regulation 37. PLAITING NOTICE CLARIFICATION TO JUDGES AND EXHIBITORS. At shows conducted by the WP&CS, all exhibits shown in led, ridden & driven Welsh classes must be shown unplaited. This does not include Part Welsh. • At any show that states in the program they are being judged under the WP&CS Show regulations, exhibits in led, ridden & driven Welsh classes must be unplaited. • At shows where the WP&CS has no jurisdiction, this rule cannot be enforced. At these shows plaited exhibits should not be penalised.
