With the Torture Report grabbing headlines, with the UN wringing its collective hands over Gaza, with the complete disregard for environmental standards by the fossil fuel regime here in the States; it should be apparent to anyone paying any kind of attention that rule of law is a figment of liberals imagination in the brazen new world order which globalized corporatism has brought to pass. This corporate coup, this economic revolution, which has been hiding out in the open for the last 40 years, is classically fascist in that it contains a racist component that allows it to insinuate this evil into the largely unconscious daily behavior of all of us. We have all been deformed by endemic racism here in America. We have all found our personal development marred by the value system imposed on all of us by those who own and control this country. Many of us buy the apple sauce that TINA is triumphant politically, economically, socially; and do our best to adapt to this fiction, this relentless manta of fascist propaganda. The crows are closing in, the chickens gathering, so to speak. Many of us are not in a position to do glorious things to bring down this flourishing evil; but each of us has the capacity for self-reflection, the ability to change our daily behaviors in small ways that hurl sand into the gears of the machinery eating the planet. It is these small things that will save us, every bit as much as the more visible acts of resistance that grab the headlines.
