With the VA lottery being over $400 million this week, someone asked me what my greatest wish would be. I know, you think that I said a vacation that lasts a year or a huge house or even new cars or clothes. I bet that some of you even think I would pick plastic surgery to have the best body ever!! All of that is very tempting and sounds nice. But you know what? I would give every dime of that money away just to be able to spend one more day with my mom. Or even just one more hour. Take one more phone call from her. I still have her cell phone number in my phone. I would even eat one more dinner where she burns the hell out of the pork chops. Play one more game of Yatzee, where she made her own rules. Because when she didn’t like the rules, she made her own. I wish to hear her say my name in anger one more time. I would like to hear her say the F word or to hear her laugh just one more time. I long to hear her say that she is proud of me just one more time or to have her hug me just one more time.
