With the commitment of the NSDCC Summer Craft Show last week I was - TopicsExpress

With the commitment of the NSDCC Summer Craft Show last week I was sad to miss the opening of Presence of Absence. I did manage to visit the Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Designs Mary E. Black Gallery for a brief moment, one early morning. Having just lost a member of my family whose instructions were to have no ceremony or announcement of their death has made this exhibition particularly thought provoking for me. The removal of loss from our daily lives is not natural or helpful to the grieving process. Remembrance can and should be a beautiful thing. The works in Presence of Absence are an incredible example of this beauty. Julie Rosvall Program Coordinator
