With the quota system banned in admission into unitary schools, I - TopicsExpress

With the quota system banned in admission into unitary schools, I think I would say the best news of the year came the latest. I scored 497 out 0f 600 and that was a fail! Cut-off penned at 215 in Enugu State (this was sometime in 1989). I mean 83% out of 100! Somewhere in Jigawa or katsina a student would score 425, which is about 70% and was headed to any FGC of choice. Little wonder some of us lost interest in the Nigerian Education system so early in life having perceived these anomalies early enough. I spent much of my days skipping classes eventually (in an equivalent and as equally competitive private university school) and being very uninterested in reading to pass exams, and of course doing badly in many subjects in the process. Todays children may now boast of a more just and equitable system all over. Thanks to SAN luminary Olisa Agbakoba...:) ...punchng/news/court-cancels-disparity-in-federal-colleges-admission-requirements/
