With the recent attempt to reduce food stamp funding (SNAP - TopicsExpress

With the recent attempt to reduce food stamp funding (SNAP funding), I signed an e-letter going out to my representatives - Doyle, Toomey and Casey. I did not expect any response. But I wanted my feelings known. Surprisingly, I received an initial response from Toomey while Doyle and Casey were silent. This is not the first time this has occurred. While I will vote for Doyle and Casey (and not for Toomey), it is Toomey who is proactive. While I realize this is all done via a nifty IT infrastructure, the fact is getting any recognition of the comments sent to your elected leaders is always better than nothing. I wish the guys I agree with would take a lesson from those on the Dark Side. Good PR is good PR and I am not sure why our leaders do not devote any money to ensuring the electorate that they are heard, even if they immediately place the correspondence into the circular file.
