"With the strong performance of the local market yesterday, investors opted to cash in on gains ahead of the weekend as Fed news has already been discounted," Miko Sayo, analyst at Nieves Securities Inc., told GMA News Online. The benchmark PSEi dropped 87.25 points or 1.34 percent to 6,424.45 at the close. The broader all-shares index fell by 54.37 points or 1.39 percent to 3,870.30. Nearly 3.16 billion shares valued at P28.8 billion were traded. Losers led gainers 93 to 64 while 39 issues were unchanged. Earlier, Eagle Equities Inc. president Joseph Roxas said investors are not comfortable with keeping their positions through the weekend.
