With what face does Omar face people in Kashmir and talk about ‘justice and truth’ when the same Omar was responsible for the hanging of Afzal Guru? Indian media (Hindutsan Times 10th February, 2013) reported that Omar had already given his go ahead for Afzal Hanging, ten days before the hanging happened. According to the same Hindustan Times report “So when Shinde called Abdullah at 8pm on February 8, the chief minister knew exactly what the home minister meant when he said, “Woh jo hum ne baat ki thi, woh kal subah hogi (The thing we discussed will take place tomorrow morning).” To maintain secrecy, the words ‘Afzal Guru’ were not uttered during the phone conversation.” Not only was Omar responsible for the hanging of Afzal, he is also responsible for the cores of innocents those got killed in Kashmir the aftermath of this hanging. Ironically not only had Omar agreed to the hanging beforehand, he also suggested to New Delhi that the same (hanging) should be done as soon as possible so that, according to him, ‘the tourist season doesnt get affected’. Afzal was hanged by Congress and NC to score political points and even his family was not informed before the hanging nor his mortal remains returned to his family. Such has been the treachery of the Abdullah family and NC against Kashmiris.
