Without a doubt, the Jappa turbos stole the show for the first round of D1. Some people need to keep the faith, dont just be V8 hatin! The Pro-Rookies were the big standouts, Shane Giles schooled the field easily seeing RB26 power on top for Qualifying - The Marshall boys definitely proving their pedal skills in the Top32. Cant not mention Fanga showing whats possible with around 240kw in Bens car. Not bad exposure either for those TJ cars, Adam Hedges was well on form in Troys car. For me Joel Patterson was fun to watch, plenty of praise repping that little 4age in Pro-Am! Congrats to Darren Kelly for his first ever win, again, this season will be all about the changing of the guard and im fairly confident plenty of new kids on the block will be big stars by the grand final next year. Going to be great for the sport as a whole. Shame the weather didnt play ball for us but the whole D1 team pressed on the best we could, the action on track definitely kept everyone entertained through the coldest round since Taupo a couple of seasons back. Live-stream was something new, happy to say we were just above target for the first stream, STM and the boys pushed shit uphill all weekend and deserve a big pat on the back for their effort. This is something that still needs lots of development and weve already got a big list of improvements for R2, overall we got fantastic feedback for our first time but were taking a realistic approach here, cant wait to get back to work on this. Epic weekend away, were going to be bigger and better at Mt Smart next month!
