Woke up on Thursday and it was not raining! Time to discard our wet weather gear at last. We left after a great breakfast and sailed through the vineyards of L’And Vineyards and Alentejo. Our progress was somewhat laboured to start with, although Emily lead the charge. Alas there was no time for wine tasting! After a picnic lunch near a quarry the team got second wind with Weissie leading the charge and after a brief stop when we discovered an old and abandoned steam engine it looked as if we would arrive at tea time. Alas biking is never that simple and Gerard got two punctures simultaneously, although these didn’t pose much of a problem to a man of his talent! We still arrived in good time, and had an early dinner, although this lasted longer than planned when the port was produced. Now for the lap of honour……
