Woke up this morning to the most wonderful sound - a gentle, steady rain. Two hours later and its still raining! And there is that heady smell of a new rain onto a parched earth. Heaven! (Google Petrichor) 6.3mm so far today and its raining at 7.2mm an hour at the moment. Only desert dwellers (like me) will understand the joy of this morning. Theres very little left of the lawn and the dark brown patches are where the dassies (rock hydrax) come to root.
