Woke up this morning with this verse on my mind, For the rest brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things, [fix your minds on them]. Phil. 3:8. It takes work to keep our hearts soft and pliable so that we will be sensitive to the gently tug and whisper of the Holy Spirit as God directs us to do His will. Looking back at the normalization of anger, violence, selfishness, lust and greed in the surroundings of my early childhood years, I remember as a teenager how callous and cynical that made my outlook. Thinking about what I am feeding my mind, hmm, what tv programs, music, past times, people will I need to give up in 2015 to keep my heart becoming even more soft and pliable for Gods purpose? What are you prepared to give up? Reflective devotional time this morning. Blessings all.
