Won a banjo at the auction tonight for $65. When I go to pay it says $75, so I tell them they made a mistake and they said no they didnt. I said they did and for $75, Id bring the banjo back inside and they could have it. The owner of the auction house then has words with me of how the banjo is worth such and such and how he plays them and they dont make mistakes, their clerk is too good. I say I know what I bid, he says hed split the difference (after some arguing). He says I could pay that for it and come back if I want, or not pay it and not come back again. I say Im not wrong, but that it is reasonable and I pay $70. He calls me later in the evening and says he talked with the auctioneer and the auctioneer sold it for $65. He admits he was wrong and that he owes me $5 and that he has a lady now looking for a different job.
