Wonderful thing happened to me today. So folks in Marrakech are apparently known for being very persitent in trying to get money out of people, specifically tourists. The way to combat them is by ignoring them. However, I struggle with ignoring because its rude. Well today I thought I was slick. Guy says something to me in Arabic and when he sees I dont respond/understand he then tries French, before finally getting to the language I speak and says excuse me in English. By this point Ive already made eye contact and trying to be slick I shake my head and say sorry, hablo espanol. The man then starts speaking to me in Spanish. Foolish of me to underestimate him... or anyone.
