Wondering where all of our dogs/cats come from? The cat and kittens were all outside felines who are now hoping to find indoor homes. Of the 29 dogs Bichon and Little Buddies took in this month, 1 was an adoption return during the trial period, 1 was an adoption return after 5 years, 2 were owner surrenders, 1 came from a Humane Society, and the remaining 24 came from animal control facilities (14 from Milwaukee - MADACC, 7 from Chicago - CACC, and 3 from Cicero, IL). I am glad we are here to help these animals find new loving homes, but it saddens me that most of these dogs from animal control are very young. So just a year or two they were probably purchased from a pet store or gotten off of craigslist or facebook as cute puppies, and now are without a home. Now it is up to us to make sure these dogs are placed in the right homes and never have to find a new family again.
