Woodcock in Snow, Jonathan Pointer Oil on canvas 12 X 16.5 inches With some many of my fellow artists posting Winter-inspired artwork on facebook at the moment I thought I had better post this. Its one of the very few snow paintings Ive ever painted and whilst I adore snow with a childlike passion, I doubt Ill paint many more. Im so un-prollific that I need to consider carefully each commitment of painting time and I have never been convinced that serious collectors want to live year-round with such a cold painting on the wall! I enjoyed painting this picture however of a Woodcock in snow-a serious issue for a bird that relies on probing soft ground with that long bill for earthworms. Ill post again before then but want to wish everyone who has Liked my Art page in its first year a very Happy Christmas!
