Woody sez: As anyone with a functioning brain could (SHOULD) have predicted when the SCROTES granted cert, the Court today ruled that aggregate limits on corporat/private contributions to political campaigns are unconstitutional, expanding their decision in Citizens United. The justices ruled 5-4, in a decision written by Chief Justice John Roberts, that limits on the total amount of money donors can give to all candidates, committees and political parties are unconstitutional. The decision frees the nations wealthiest donors to have greater influence in federal elections. If the SCROTES are to serve life-time tenures, then there need to be ways to curtail their malign influences.
