In this case, your garment reveals who you are. In the Biblical sense, it’s a covering from shame or it can be a representation of you. Sometimes we find we are stuck in doing things in the same conventional way rather than trying to break free and change your ways. Elephants in India are commonly used for transport, moving heavy goods or even uprooting trees, but have you ever wondered how they are able to keep the Elephant at one position for the whole night? Well, they tie a string on its hind leg and link it to a twig and the Elephant stays at that position the whole night. How does this happen? When the Elephant was young, the trainers tied a heavy chain on its hind leg and linked it to a big tree stump. For many days it would struggle to break free but it failed so it was conditioned to believe once it was tied, it could not move. Are there things you have been told that you will never achieve and so have been wearing a garment of defeat? Self-pity? Well, maybe it’s time to change your ‘garment’ and start wearing one that depicts optimism, success, excellence and blessings. You do not have to wait to be shaken from your comfort zone, turn to God to help you change your garment to become what he wanted you to be, because when God calls you to another level you have to throw away your old garments!
