Word for Today ~ GOD HAS GIVEN YOU KINGLY AUTHORITY Isaiah 22:22, “The key of the house of David I will lay on his shoulder; so he shall open, and no one shall shut; and he shall shut, and no one shall open During Biblical days when Kings ruled the land, they wore on their royal garments two keys. One key was sown on each shoulder. The keys signified that the king was ruler over all the land. It meant whatever he said had to be obeyed. If you obeyed, you lived. If you disobeyed, you died. As the king sat on his throne, he was asked many questions. If he gestured with his hand to open the door, the door was opened. If he gestured with his hand to close the door, it was closed. The keys were not something that the door needed, it was the kings WORDS that commanded the door to be opened or closed. God has given you the key to the house of David. He has laid it upon your shoulder. This key represents authority. God has given you authority and wants you to rise up and take your rightful place on earth. He wants you to take back what the devil has stolen. You have the keys to the Kingdom on your shoulder and God wants you to use them. You need an authority that goes beyond just what you say and what you pray. You need power to be demonstrated when you begin to speak the word of God. When you begin to prophesy, you want that word to come to pass. Therefore, God wants you to know that He has put an anointing on the words you speak. Your words will not fall to the ground. They will come to pass. God is restoring His voice in you. Bishop D.
