Words Destroy or Heal Some of us talk faster than we can - TopicsExpress

Words Destroy or Heal Some of us talk faster than we can formulate our thoughts; and we do not actually weigh the words that we speak to others. Words can hurt, steal joy, scar others, ruin friendships, tarnish character, poison minds against others, destroy, delve out pain, and a myriad of other negative things. Words can also be kind, gentle, caring, loving, helpful, character building, lifting, strengthening, encouraging, and a host of other positive things. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. Matthew 12:35 (NIV). The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. Proverbs 18:21 (NLT). Wars are started with words, kingdoms destroyed with words, marriages ruined with words, friendships ended with words, families separated with words, and every other device that satan has concocted against people. On the other hand, words have formed alliances, made friends, spread love, encouraged, gave joy, brought peace, and given happiness. A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver. Proverbs 25:11 (ESV). What the righteous person says is like precious silver; the thoughts of the wicked are compared to small things. Proverbs 10:20 (ISV). And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak. The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you. Matthew 12:36-37 (NLT). Which set of words would You want others using on You? Words destroy or heal! Let us be ever mindful of our Words!
