Words can not express the gratitude we have for our patients, book fans, DVD exercisers, walking club members, gym friends, church family, real family, friends and supporters! For 16 years, you have been our inspiration to keep pushing, keep learning and to never stop offering the best available options to improve our health and that of our community. We started out young, with bright eyes and bushy tales and to this day remain in awe of the amazing drive and dedication of so many to make changes to improve their health and that of those they love! We stand with you! From Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and University Hospitals in Cleveland as exclusively dating Case Western Reserve medical students, to newlyweds expecting their first child at Metrohealth. We were a young family at the Cleveland Clinic with 2 sons juggling work life balance then the amazing global Diabetes leader Novonordisk and then to our new home, Tampa with innovative employee wellness leader, CareAtc! Each patient, co-worker, friend, manager, director and colleague has added so much to our lives.The segment on the Dr. Oz show THIS TUESDAY , November 11th is a really big deal for us. We have admired Dr. Oz from our first introduction of him on the Oprah Winfrey Show. So to be featured for the work we are doing is really incredibly humbling! The producers flew a team out to Tampa to videotape us and get footage of us in our daily lives, at home, in the office and leading an exercise class, even before my arrival to the show in NYC. They dug into the motivation and inspiration behind the work. Yes...they are sharing photos of Madea ( mine not Tyler Perrys...love her too ) and my Grandma Rose ( yes...she asked me to become a doctor my third year of college because her doctors said she needed dialysis and the three hours, 3x a week might mess up her stories aka soap operas). So... tears well up just remembering stages of our lives where love has been the constant throughout the myriad changes, family members passing and restructuring of medical facilities.! Our family , all of you, have been right there! We thank God for each and everyone of you! When you tune in on Tuesday, to watch the Dr. Oz show... take ownership, you are responsible!!! We did this together! Healthy living is achievable!
