Words of 2012 International Fashion Supermmodel Contest(IFSM) HK Chapmion ,2012 IFSM GRAND FINAL 1st runner up Jasmine Yick “When I was just a little girl, I asked my mother, what will I be?” Ever since I was a child I have had a dream of being a model. Hong Kong is a place where models with sparkling big eyes and broad shoulder are overwhelmingly popular. It wasn’t easy for a girl like me with small eyes and Asian face to be a professional model. Besides, friends and family around me would kindly advise me to get a stable job as I am a university graduate (Well, FYI, less than 20% of high school student could get into college) Everybody got a dream but not everyone will DO something to achieve it. Perhaps just a competition won’t make me famous nor qualifies me all the way to be a supermodel, but then, at least, the experience and memories of chasing my own dream would last until I am old and this is something that I will be proud of. Dream is only a dream if I just sit there and wait. So I encourage girls like you, take a step forward and start realizing your own dream. Forget everything like people saying you are not pretty enough, not slim enough, not tall enough, just have a leap of faith in yourself and just start following the inner surge and passion of becoming what you want to be. If we don’t do it now, we won’t do it forever. Stop saying tomorrow because life is just now. IFSM(International Fashion Supermodel contest) is not the largest model competition yet it is a good start because of its international exposure. Not only the competition enables you to be spotlighted in an international arena but also allows you to meet talents around the world.
