Words of Inspiration Blog: You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. Isaiah 26: 3-4 I have made it part of my ethos for 10+ years to read through the Bible slowly with a devotional emphasis. I read not for quantity, but rather to learn, grow, and seek a closer relationship with God. As I read I will research or ponder things that God seems to bring to greater attention in my inner man. This morning, in the plan I am on, I am reading Isaiah. The passage quoted above is so wonderful and has already helped me greatly this am. I have just came off leading and speaking at a youth retreat for the weekend. For the past week life was consumed by preparation both in developing the messages, administering the retreat, speaking, and ministering to the kids. It was as though almost everything else in life was frozen for the week. Kind of like going on vacation and then reentering the day to day life. It was a very enjoyable week. Monday morning I woke up very tired and also thinking through all of the other aspects of life and the future. So much to get done, so many unknowns, so many things I am waiting on and many things I need wisdom from the Lord. This am the verses above really ministered to me and I share them to hopefully help them to minister to you too. I imagine your list of things to do is large, that you have unknowns in your future, that there are things you are waiting on and things you need wisdom from the Lord on. Sometimes all of this can produce stress and anxiety in us. Ah.. but then our eyes turn back to our Savior and Lord, our Master and friend, the Creator and our highly admired Father, our guide and the one who brings peace. We dont have to figure it all out. We may never get it all done. The joy, the peace, the life we truly want is the life that is stayed on him. The kind of life that does not have to control the future but rather trusts in the Lord who has the future in his hands and plans. He is our rock. He is everlasting. Oh God may we keep our minds stayed on you because it is there we can let go and let God and thereby have joy and enjoy perfect peace.
