Words of wisdom from Draplin. Design can elevate them… When my buddies in a band come to me, its a fight. Its a fight to say were not funded… were going to make them as good, or even better, or more considered, than the guys on a major label; thats been my life forever, now. One of the greatest hurtles a designer faces is the creative concept. Far too many artists commit to a design by immediately jumping ontot he computer. Sometimes it works out, but more often that not you will spend hours shuffling elements around trying to fix something that was broken from the outset—something that couldve been bypassed immediately if they had bothered to do quick thumbnail concepts first.
